I started in optics in 1987, working in a manufacturing factory which provided spectacles for opticians. In 1997 I decided to expand my knowledge and studied to gain both my “smc tech” and Dispensing Optician” qualification.
In 2003 once qualified, I moved to a dispensing only practice, then to an Independent opticians.
I joined Simon Berry’s in 2021 and never looked back!
Three things I love:
- Every day at Simon’s is different, which is great, I love a challenge and often have to dispense unusual and complex prescriptions. I have loved seeing the children who visit grow over the years that I have been here.
- I have had numerous hobbies over the years but the one that is the most unusual is being an Urban explorer, where I would take photographs inside derelict buildings. My favourite being Victorian asylums. I travelled all over England, Scotland and Wales and even had a road trip to Belgium.
- I enjoy keeping fit, I gained my Black Belt in Karate in 2001. My husband got me into running and I have completed the Blackpool half and 5 of the Great North run half marathon.
